Hi Idon'tknow

You can't attach a text box to a drawing canvas. But you can place a text
box within a drawing canvas.

To do that, click within the drawing canvas and then use the Drawing toolbar
to insert the text box.

Hope this helps.

If the text box is positioned entirely "in" the Drawing
Canvas, they should move together when the Drawing Canvas
is moved.

Note: I am talking about a textbox from the Drawing
toolbar. If you mean something else, please specify.

If either is formatted as 'inline with text' layout you won't be
able to group them.

Otherwise you can use Tools=>Customize=>Commands and from the
Drawing category drag the the 'Select Multiple Objects' tool
to your drawing toolbar, then use that tool to select a canvas
and other shape (such as a text box) then use Draw=>Group on
the Drawing toolbar. All of the grouped items must fit on
one page.
