how do i apply themes

I apply themes but all i get is a colored background - no banners, buttons,
etc. I have tried numerous themes. Please help.. I am new to computers.

First make your navigation in navigation view. Then using shared boarders
import navigation and then apply the theme for the menu in the shared
boarder.
