How do I access these files?

T

The Old Timer

I captured some video onto two different drives. I have done this many
times before in the past. This time when I tried to open the clips on the
second drive nothing happened. I went to Explorer & clicked on the file
there expecting the file to open but nothing happened. When I tried to drag
the clips to another drive I got a message that access was denied. I
clicked on the clips properties & under attributes neither 'read only' or
'hidden' is checked. Under advanced both the archive & index both boxes
are checked & under compress or encrypt neither are.

How do I get to see & use these files or failing this get the files deleted
since I'm not allowed to delete them either?

Thanks in advance

I've printed out the page you suggested but was uncertain as to where to
find out how to disable 'Simple File Sharing' as suggested when using XP
PRO. Could you please give me the path? I'm the only one who uses this
machine.

Hi

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools>Folder Options>View. Scroll down the
list and disable 'Use simple file sharing'.

It worked that's great. Thanks once again.

It worked that's great. Thanks once again. Should I now put the settings
back the way they were? I suppose that it doesn't matter much since I'm the
only person to use this PC.
