How come?????

I am just courious...but how come if ALL spyware/Adware/Highjackers are the
same if on your PC...do all these different antiapy programs work so
differently?
Meaning...
If I have spyware installed in the PC.... how come say Ad Aware can't find
it... but another spyware remover program can?
Aren't they all suppose to be programed to to find and destroy whatever
adware/spyware thats been placed on the PC?
I'm just trying to undestand how this all works...
and can someone please advise of what could be the BEST program out there to
rid a PC of this crap and block any more pop ups , etc?

Just as Anti-Virus software is basically a scan engine and depends on
"Definitions", Spyware detection varies from vendor to vendor. What
some consider threats aren't by other products.
I use AdAware,Spybot, HiJackThis, CWShredder and MS - ASW
for "Real-Time" monitoring. Along with that I'll run 5 or 6 online based
scanners. But, my system security is locked down so it's very seldom
I'll uncover anything. These days most new stuff seems to be related to
Java caching.
Threats change or new threats appear all the time, so there isn't a
Static way to stop or prevent it. Also some tools detect things that aren't
really present (Like P3P tables in the Registry).
If you tighten up your Security and avoid arbitrary downloads and avoid
certain types of websites you can use the Net and be 'somewhat safe'.

I wouldn't think ANY of the products is 100%....

It's the same with Antivirus products e.g. Norton claim to be the most
trusted and use in the world; yet people on these and similar groups are
saying that norton didn't pick up such and such a virus were MacAffee or AVG
did....it's really up to you, which product you trust, and can come to
depend on.
