How come one PPP opens only with the PPP Viewer2007?

I have installed PPP 2007, and play the slide show from a memory stick and
had no problem.
However, I am trying to play a slide show from a CD-R, and it opens up only
with the PPP Viewer and not from PPP. How come?

How is the presentation being opened from the CD? My thought is that it was
added to the CD with a the 'package for CD' option with the PPT viewer
included. So the viewer is being used by virtue of being there.
