A useful MRU-swatting tool is MRU Blaster, available free from JavaCool
Software at http://www.wilderssecurity.com. It clears ALL the MRU entries.
He also has other cool free stuff, including Spyware Blaster.
I have MRU Blaster set to run silently at boot, but it can be run manually
at any time.

TweakUI is another good utility to consider. Many items are selectable for
clearing at logon in the Paranoia section.
The TweakUI utility for Windows 2000 can be downloaded from here:

You can also set some things like like size and "clear on logoff". If
you are not into TweakUI, try the www.jsiinc.com site Tips for the
exact registry settings. Sorry, I don't have time for more initial

The default value is 15
Set the Reg_Dword value of;
"MaxRecentDocs"
found at
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
to the number of documents to be displayed.
If "MaxRecentDocs" doesn't exist ADD it.
Or to remove it you can set the Reg_Dword decimal value of
"NoRecentDocsMenu" = 1
found in
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
If the value doesn't exist, Add it.
