How change default view in open dialogs?

I have installed WinXP 3 months ago. All my software open dialog boxes now
show thumbnails of the files instead of the file names (Under Win2000 the
same software showed the file names). How can I change this behavior?

Hi Marc,

Hold down the shift key while selecting thumbnail view to toggle icon
titles.
