Educating the vistaboys and vistagals for one more time....

MS thought NTFS was fragment-proof and did not provide defragmentation tool
-See second paragraph.

Hey bozo...supply "white paper" proof (if you have any idea what that
means) that MS didn't supply, nor ever intended to supply, a
defragmenting tool with any NTFS OS.

A less geeky explanation :-)

You're dumber than previously thought..."So this proves that Linux does
need defrag when the hard drive does not have enough gaps... So where
are the defrag utils for linux?"
Idiot!
Have a nice day you linux loser moron. :-D

Actually frank, and this applies to both Linux and Windows file systems,
when a disk goes past 80% space usage, no defragger will have an easy time.
Defragmentation may even be impossible as it requires a certain amount of
free space to work with.

So bottom line is that if someone can get a linux hard drive so full that it
starts to defragment, they need to start looking at a larger hard drive as
no defragger will really help all that much as it won't have enough free
space to work with.

And like I said, and I say it again, that also applies to your beloved NTFS.
The only difference is that NTFS will already start fragmenting at 1%
usage. =)

Stephan,

All this is far beyond Frank's ability to understand. Maybe when he gets his
head out of his ass, there'll be some hope for him.

You Wintard. Windows NT didn't come with a defrag tool. Obviously,
MickeyMouse thought it wasn't necessary with NTFS. They learned differently
and with Win2000 started providing such a tool though crippled in its
capabilities which is so common with MickeyMouse provided software. Windows
NT users had to depend on third-party developers for defrag tools for NTFS.

vista defrag is more crippled than XP's one...

and runs as a service and has a stupid useless gui (gui.. is an
exaggeration, its just a button!).. making sure your hard disk never
stops... lol

vista is stupid.

Doris.. just block him and get it over with..

You are wasting your time...

he is just here to troll around.. if he wanted proof and "white papers" all
he had to do was
to use frikin Google...

I saw plenty.... he doesn't want proof, or even care about
defragmentation..

he is here to have fun quarreling about things he does not understand.
That's why I blocked him. Now I will create a filter to delete even posts
that are replies to his trash...

There are a few people that you should avoid...

Hey you moron...when you post something you should be prepared to supply
definitive proof of your statement.
Telling someone asking for proof to go google it themselves is
ridiculous...just like you're ridiculous.
You do realize that you have absolutely no credibility at all in this ng
nor in the XP ng.

Frank is Justin's apprentice. He's trying real hard to be just as
obnoxious, rude, crude and ignorant.

Install new innards in the old computer. (That may sound like a joke but I'm
totally serious. You just need more computer and the old one isn't likely to
do the job.)
