How can the desktop icon font color be changed (Without 3rd party software, _please_)

Erasmus

I have been searching (Google, forums, etc.), and no one seems to know
how this can be done. The desktop icon font color used to be
controllable via a display property in older versions of windows
(unless my memory is failing me in my 'old' age). Does anyone in this
forum know of a way to add a reg key to the registry that will cause
this font color to change? I know there are third party softwares that
will do this, but that just defeats the whole purpose, as my hobby is
to hack
(not illegally crack) software, and push it past the developers'
intent. Please do not post if all you can tell me is "this software
will do that for you... it's great!"

Looking for any hackers out there who have found where this color
setting is stored in the registry. Thanks!

Jon
