How can I use my contacts to filter incoming email?

I use the rules to help organize my incoming email. I have a bulk folder
set up and a rule to eliminate junk email. Is there a way to set up an
exception to that rule that if the incoming email is in my address book that
it not delete the junk email without individually entering each contact?
Hopefully, That way if i add a contact it will become part of the rule. Even
though there's a "except if from people or distribution list" category when I
do put a distribution list as part of the rule it comes back with "this is a
personal distribution list that cannot be used with this rule, would you like
to use the individual members instead?"
PS I use MS Outlook 2000
Thanks for your reply.

Newer version do have such and option, so if Outlook 2000's rules wizard
does not include it, the answer is "no, you'll need to upgrade".

Outlook 2003, the most recent version, has that kind of rule condition and exception, but not Outlook 2000. In OL2000, you'd need to add each individual contact to the "people or distribution list" rule, or you can use a DL as it suggests, and have Outlook expand the DL.
