How can I transfer files from a MS-DOS system to a new XP system?

Hi everyone,

I would like to transfer files from a win 98se Compaq 1247 notebook to
a Toshiba notebook. The problem is that the Compaq's Win 98se files
are damaged, (the hardware is shaky also) so it will not boot up Win
98, but I can get the DOS prompt. The Compaq has a usb port - but how
can i get to it from dos?

Is there a way to transfer the files from the Compaq to the Toshiba
via some sort of cable setup?

just buy a 10 dollar laptop drive to standard drive adapter and put the
laptop drive in your computer to transfer the files.

USB is not supported under DOS as it was not even invented!
