how can i stop losing emails in my inbox?

Hope someone can help. When I close outlook and then reopen any emails that
were in my inbox have disappeared. This seems to have happened for no
apparent reason. Outlook has worked well since it was installed some 14months
ago. Anyone had this same problem and solved it?

Have you applied a filter to the view? View > Current View > Messages is
what should be ticked.
