How can I set up a softphone as the default dialer in outlook?

I'm using a VOIP line with a softphone (highly recommended BTW). Is there
any way I can set up Outlook to use my softphone as the default dialer? It
wants to use the modem all the time.

Thanks!

Not that I know of. Outlook will only invoke the Windows dialer.

I'd also really like to know this.

I run an asterisk server on my lan (www.asterisk.org - also check out the
Asterisk@home version if you are only new to Asterisk) and have both IAX and
SIP clients running on my pc.

being able to dial via Outlook would be great.

I know there is a TAPI application that can be added to Asterisk but I've
always put it in the too hard basket to implement, time to relook at it I
guess.

Cheers,
Dean
