how can I save a .pps to cd & still run the video clips in it?

I have a presentation I want to put onto CD. Included in the presentation are
a dozen short video clips. When I've copied it to CD and I run the show I am
unable to play the video clips inserted. How do I run the show with videos
included but not see the videos on the CD?

Put all the videos into the same folder as the presentation reinsert them
into your presentation, and make sure that when you copy the presentation to
the CE you also copy the video clips.

Put the videos in the folder with your presentation, then insert them into
the presentation. Then burn the *contents* of the folder to the CD.

That should do it, but you might also want to use Pack and Go or Package for
CD to resolve the links. If you pack and go, then unpack and burn the PPT/PPS
file and videos to CD.

Tip - you can only link video to PPT - you can't embed. You've broken the
links in your project.

Do this:

Create a new folder
Copy your presentation to this folder
Place the video clips in this folder
Restablish your links

Now when you burn the CD, make sure you burn the entire folder (not just
it's contents individually) to the CD. Similarly, if at any time you wish to
play the presentation from a PC, drag the entire folder onto that PC so you
don't break the links.

That last condition is the kicker. You can't. PowerPoint doesn't embed videos,
only links to them, so the video files have to be present on the CD.

It's possible to get it to work with the videos in a subfolder on the CD.

Another possibility, IF you know that the user will have a very fast internet
connection, is to use PFCMedia and link to video at a web URL rather than to the
local file system.
