How can I roll back Internet Explorer? I went to tool and went to advance
and did a reset. I'm just stupid. Anyway I can fix this
Just from my experience, installing IE7 over top of IE6 is a problem thatM$
won't admit to.
You wind up with 2 flavors of IE that don't work together.
the rollback function Just enhances the screw up. And you still have 2 non
working versions.
Only thing that worked for me was to reformat, and reinstall the OS. and NEVER
again reinstall the IE7.
Then my XP machine died, and I learned something new. IE7 works PERFECTLYwith
a Vista machine.
Which makes me believe that when you upgrade to vista on your XP machine, you
wind up with all sorts of mismatches besides IE.
All the software Vista ALLOWS you to install ALSO work fine. Course they did
with XP also. But Vista has that 'ALLOWED software/hardware' Vista made lots of
my software obsolete. And the hardware on my 2 year old XP couldn't install
Vista without replacing the hardware.
If you're working with a 2 flavor machine, That's where I'd expect the
troubles.
If you have a VISTA OS disk, I'd go with a complete reformat and install.
making your own partitions and stuff vs letting Vista decide how you'll use the
machine.
I know with my 1st major failure [and it's going to happen sure as the sun
comes up tomorrow] I'll need to buy a Vista OS just to access my machine.
Then I'll have my 30 gig OS partition, so if it fails, it won't take out the
entire machine next time it dies.
