I have a problem with Norton Internet Security's ccApp program using 99% CPU.
Norton says I need to replace ntdll.dll from the XP CD, but doesn't say how
to do it. I tried to copy directly (after boot to Recovery Console) from the
I386\system32 folder, but that made my machine un-bootable. (That's probably
a FAT32 version of ntdll).

Can someone tell me the correct way to replace NTDLL.DLL from the XP CD on
an NTFS system? I'm on XP-Pro with SP2.

You can download the networked version os Service Pack 2 and then follow the
"slipstreaming" of Service Pack 2 into a newer XP install CD.

Set the BIOS to boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead
of Setup, take the immediate R for Repair. Assume any password
requested is blank, and TAB over.

If the CD drive letter is X: use
Copy x:\i386\ntdll C:\windows\system32

But if you have installed a Service pack (eg SP2) do the copy from
C:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

not the CD

And general advice - if you install a Symantec/Norton product and get
troubles, get rid of it
