How can I rename linked files?

Hello!
Is it possible to rename an Excel file that I have linked to Access without
severing the link? I have tried renaming the Excel file but when I do it
doesn't appear to be linked to the Access table any longer. I would like to
be able to save different versions of the workbook but keep the link intact.
Any suggestions?
