How can I recover a deleted document%3f

I transcribed a long document and accidentally deleted it. Is there a way I
can recover this document?
 
File recovery software *may* be able to recover the deleted file - it rather
depends on what you have done on the PC in the meantime that may have
overwritten the file space the document occupied.
