How can I print reports for the www

R

Roger

Our club is setting up a new www site, and we want to generate reports from
our members database to put up as a www page. Is there any way I can convert
access reports into html? I have frontpage 2003, can I import access reports
into frontpage automatically to convert it into html?

with thanks ... Roger

Is there a reason you don't want to use File | Export and save it as HTML?
It's been a feature of Access reports in the last several versions of the
product.

I'd be very careful about posting individuals' information on the web... at
the very least, you are likely to expose them to floods of spam, and
possibly some nasty malware, as well.

Thanks, I did not know I could do that. But, I have tried it out and I lose
some of the report formatting and the club logo which is in the report
disappears. How can I keep this in the report. I assume I use Unicode UTF-8
encoding ?

yes, re the membership list, other than a couple of pages for public
consumption the members part of the site with the members list, office
bearers, club programme and so on will be password protected.

.... thanks for your advice, Roger

Yes, some formatting is lost when you save reports in different form,
including graphics. You might include HTML code to display a graphic logo
that you have on the website (I haven't done this, but HTML is, after all,
just text.) I have found that the HTML preserves formatting better for me
than, say, Rich Text does.

I've heard that there are improvements in the area of saving in different
file formats in Access 2007, but haven't used the feature.

As for the font, I think you'll need to experiment and see what works for
you. My use of this has been on networks and LANs, not on the Web, so the
users had "standard installations" on their desktop machines -- fonts were
never a problem, so I haven't had to dig into that issue.

You are welcome. I wish you the best success on your application.
