How can I print multiple documents without opening?

If you print them from Windows Explorer, it opens them but closes them as
soon as it's done.

Is there a reason why you want to do this? There may be another option.

Hi JoAnn: I must print multiple documents daily. They are documents on
client/doctor visits sent from dictation and by law we must have a hard copy,
signed by the doctor and filed in the chart. This multiple print thing used
to work in Word 2000,why is the feature gone now?

I use Word 2000 at work and it opens them. It's relatively quick but they do
open and close the file. I've never seen it done any other way..

Hi DTB-

If you are referring to being able to select multiple files to print from
Word's Open dialog box, I've found this to be a probelm in 2003 as well. I
honestly don't know if it is an Office glitch or something about the OS, as I
run Office 2003 on WinXP & Office 2000 on Win 2000.

As JoAnn indicated, however, if you navigate to the folder using a Windows
Explorer window instead of the Open dialog box the procedure will work. Word
_has_ to open because it needs to interpret the doc info & pass it to the
printer.

Dear CyberTaz: Thanks for the info. I run Office 2003 on Win 2000 and use
Word 2003. 2003 is brand new for me and I am having trouble, which is why I
am here. And, yes, I was referring to printing from the Word Open dialog
box. I will try out Explorer, but I am going to have to think this through.
It is an entire process from transcriptionist, decryption, zipped, printing,
load and delete. All which had been done basically in Word. Any info that
comes to mind, let me know. Thanks, Downtown Brown
