How can I keep microsoft updates from changing my server connecti.

I have to set my Outlook server connection to 5 minutes in order for my
emails to go out successfully. Everytime I receive an "update" it sets the
server time back to one minute. How can I keep this from happening?
 
It shouldn't be happening. You'll need to reset the connection interval
manually.
