How can I keep all formatting in an Access report when sent to Wor

You can't. You are turning it into a RTF document.

If you need an exact image, save it as a Microsoft Snapshot format, or use a
third-party pdf writer to produce a pdf version.

Even pdfs may not be 100% identical.

So do you think then that I could get away with setting up a merge from
Access to Excel having all the formatting I need in excel but pulling the
updated information from Access. This way I get to show the report I need
with the appropriate formatting for my guys in Excel?

It seems a shame that it has to be done this way. It makes me wonder why I
would ever use the Reports function in Access if I am not able to share
between programs like this.

Well, a report is designed to be printed. It is not meant to be an
interactive object. If you want to share it, I'm not sure I understand why
you would not send a pdf or a snapshot.

That won't work at all. Excel does not maintain external report formatting
information.

A good solution is to use a pdf format.

The graphics, and layout will be as you have. Further, most people have pdf.

There is a good number of free pdf creators.

Another approach is to use the snapshot format for a report, but users then
will have to download and install the snapshot viewer.

If for some strange reasons you need the graphics intact, then there is a
solution here:

Check out:

There is in the above the ability to format the word rtf docuemnt wth the
graphics.

And, for pdf..you can try
