How can I install ActiveSync on a Windows XP Embedded SP1 image?

Hello,

How can I install ActiveSync on a Windows XP Embedded SP1 runtime image?

When I try to run the ActiveSync 4.2 setup.exe file it saiz that it "can be
installed only on computers running Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, or
Windows 2000, with the latest service packs installed."
I have tested with a normal Windows XP Professional SP1 and ActiveSync 4.2
installs there.

Does it work with Windows XP Embedded SP2 ?

Florin,

Beside the fact that you'd obviously need to satisfy all the ActiveSync dependencies in your image (hope you did so), the problem
may be around the wrong versioning info set up on your XPe image.
Basically you will need to add some registry entries to your runtime. Please search NG archive for CSDVersion to get more details
about the fix.

Thank you for information.

Because I have encountered another problems beside this, I moved to
Embedded Windows XP SP2 images and this fixed the ActiveSync and the
rest of the problems.
