how can I import text from an OCR

I too have a beef with Microsoft!!!!

For years, I have used earlier versions of MS Word (97) to simply "Acquire
Text" from my scanner using the scanner OCR software (Twain compatable).

I purchased a new computer that had Vista operating system installed. My
new computer doesn't have a parallel port so I needed to buy a USB scanner.

Vista won't accept my older version of Word. So I purchased Office 2007 and
now find that there is no "Acquire Text" available.

I need some help here!!
