How can I get a picture to go to the edge of the paper?

I am using PowerPoint to create a two-fold brochure. My cover art appears to
go to the edge of the paper onscreen, but when printed out, a border appears
around it. I have tried oversizing the picture to go outside of the edge,
have changed the settings so the page size is exactly 8.5 x 11, but nothing
seems to work. Anyone know a way to fix this?

Buy a printer which can print to the edges! (But don't be surprised: These
models are rare and expensive.) Normal office printers leave an edge, which
is not printable, 1/5 inch with modern laser printers, 1 inch with bubble
jet printers. Think of it as the margin where the printer "grabs" the paper.

Best regards,
Ute

Well, a new printer is never going to happen--I'm lucky I even have a color
printer in the office. But it is good information to know. I always wondered
why this happened in PowerPoint and now I know. Thanks for the info!
