How can I filter out in newsgroups in Outlook Exopress?

I subscribe to several newsgroups who, at the moment, are suffering from the
myriad of little boys whose intention appears to be to wreck the newsgroups.

Can I prevent these loading down by setting rules such as to refuse any
cross posting or any from "JIM DOE".
Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't trace it via Google

Ask in a group that has OUTLOOK EXPRESS or OE in the title. Notice
this group lacks those entries.

If such is rampant in a particular newsgroup, an administrator running the
server should be blocking the posts at the server itself.

At the other end where we read it, others have provided how to prevent a
post based on email reply name. This is usually bogus to begin with, and
easily changed by such nuisance boys on subsequent posts.

Some servers seemingly have no admin end supervising the content. One such
newsgroup on a non-MS newsgroup server specialized in dogs I recently
visited. A few posters with consistent screen names publish the same
nonsensical, intentionally misspelled, miscapitalized words, self-serving
selling their gimmicks via weblinks. Their posts and replies range anywhere
from 30 - 200 KB in size. They seem to post their nonsense everyday,
whether a question is asked or not. There are only few other posts there.
After a week or so of hoping for some real traffic, unsubscribed. If you
run into similar do the same, the newsgroup needs to die due to lack of
interest.

I do not know if Microsoft Press is still exist.

If it is still in business, search for the book on "Internet Explorer 6."
If they have this book, Outlook Express, for sure, is discussed in detailed
here.

Usually, as I learned from the "Internet Explorer 5" book, you can block
the unwanted posts through Tools/MessageRules. It is not 100% effective, but
if you have the patience, you will be able to block some of these
undesirable posts.

But I am behind times, maybe in the new Microsoft Press publication of
"Internet Explorer 6," Baby Bill has already conquered these newsgroup
spammers.

Go to "tools/message rules/news". Click new and follow prompts. In addition
while reading a message you can click "message/block sender". It will add
sender to blocked senders list. This can be removed or updated at
"tools/message rules/blocked senders list".
