how can I fade a sound file between slide transitions

I have my music inserted and timed, but I want to fade from one song to the
next for a smooth transition. You can do this in Windows Movie Maker...how
can I do it in Power Point?

You cannot do this in PowerPoint

As Michael says "Not in Powerpoint" best way is to give the sounds a fade in
and out which you can do with sound editor. Good free editor is "Audacity"
