How can I do a word count on a power point document? I have tried saving the
file as an rtf document, but not all of the text is transfered. Any
suggestions?

MM,

I think when you save the text to RTF powerpoint only converts the text in
the "placeholders" e.g. the title and the bullet lists.

If you open your presentation, file menu > properties > statistics, you
should find a word count there.

Check File, Properties, the Statistics tab.

Exporting gives you just the text you see in the Outline/Text Placeholders.
Statistics includes words in other text boxes (but not in inserted objects like
spreadsheets, graphs, graphics and such)

Thank you for your response. I followed your recommendation and it worked!!!
