How can I delete an icon in taskbar?

Hi,
One of my users installed a version(?)of Symnatec and then
removed it badly!!He delete every folder of Symantec
finnaly but he cann't delete a 'vtray.exe' file in
symantec folder then he could't delete this folder.
An icon of symantec real protection(vtray.exe) in the
taskbar remained and I don't no how can I remove it?
When I want to delete the 'vtray.exe' it says "Access
denied" because of that icon in taskbar!!!
Could you please help me?

Use StartUpCPL from tip 2620 or tip 16 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
http://www.jsiinc.com to stop these from starting.

Then delete them and their registry entries.
