How can I configure Windows Explorer not to view web content?

Recently, after installing and then uninstalling an ill-behaved
program, I have found that, whenever I start Windows Explorer, my
ZoneAlarm program asks whether I want to allow Windows Explorer to
access something called [ShellFile("C:\:Windows\explorer.scf". Unless
I click on Yes, Windows Explorer won't open.

I have a feeling this peculiar behavior is due to the fact that my
Windows Explorer program is configured to view web content --
something I don't think it was set up to do before. (I.e., my Windows
Explorer menu bar now has a Favorites menu on it, and when I click on
one of the favorites listed there, the right panel of Windows Explorer
(where files are normally displayed) becomes a web browser.

I would like to configure Windows Explorer NOT to view web content
(which is the way I think it was configured before this problem
began), so that I am not bothered by ZoneAlarm every time I run
Windows Explorer. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

This problem has now mutated.

Thus, please ignore the above posting and instead, if you are so
inclined, please look at my subsequent posting with the subject
"Problems encountered in getting Windows Explorer to open to my hard
drive instead of My Documents."
