How can I change my system partition?

I have seperate 2 Sata Drives. When I installed Vista I had XP on a partition
on drive 1 and installed Vista on a partition on drive 2. I now want to
delete XP because I'm pretty surprised by Vista's overall performance so far.
However, the partition where XP is installed is still my system partition,
and as long as this remains the case, I cannot delete / format its partition.

I want to make my Vista partition the system partition and format the
partition XP resides on. Anyone knows how I can do this?

You can easily partition and format any drive on the system with the
Gparted Live CD.

There is software called partition magic that allows you to do it

Heres another way

Right click My Computer Click "Manage"
Click Continue
Click Disk manager from menu on left
Right click the drive you want to format and click format.

since your boot information resides on the XP partition it is not that easy to format it.
it might be easier for you to change the cables on the hard drives making the Vista one the first drive and then run a boot repair from the vista dvd.

Could I just change the boot priority in the Bios instead of changing the
cables and then use the vista repair tools?

Thanks for the answers so far guys!

:

Best to unplug the XP HDD, boot into the Vista DVD and run start up repair.
