how can I change manual line breaks to hard returns in Word?

Ctrl+H to open the Replace dialog. Type ^l (that's a lowercase L) in the
"Find what" box and ^p in the "Replace with" box. Replace All.
 
Thanks so much!! I made over seven thousand replacements! You just saved me
so much time. How do you learn this stuff?
