I want to have my secretary take care of putting mail messages on existing
folders in my outlook onto our network. There are about 100 folders. How
can I do this without having to set the share permission for each individual
folder?

I'm presuming you use Exchange. What about asking the Exchange admins to
grant her full rights to your mailbox, if that doesn't give him/her too much
access?

If not - create a single top-level folder and move all these folders into it
as subfolders. I believe you can set permissions on a folder & push them
down to all subfolders therein.

I could do that, but how? I've looked and can't find how to set the
subfolders up that way.

Creating a top level and either copying or moving folders into that folder
will not change their permissions. Anyone else have any ideas? I am surprised
that this is not a more common task. We do it a lot at our company.

How do you grant the user full rights to the mailbox? via Exhange System
Manager?
We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.

Thank you,

Giving user Exchange Admin

That says it works for PUBLIC FOLDERs though. I didn't think an individual
mailbox is considered a PUBLIC FOLDER.
I have been trying to figure out some way to do this for quite some time. As
far as I have found it is NOT possible to push permissions 'down the tree'.
MS needs to add this capability. Just add one little check box. "Allow
access to sub-folders".

The Microsoft Exchange Server Public Folder DAV-based Administration Tool
(link that I posted) works GREAT for MAILBOXES and Public Folders!!!

I open the program
File>Connect
Put in my Exchange Server and Global Catalog server name
Put in proper authentication
Select: All Mailboxes
Expand the user/mailbox
Right-click Top of Information Store and choose folder permissions
Add>Browse for the user name that I want to have permission to this mailbox
Commit changes and close window
Right-click Top of Information Store and choose Propagate folder ACEs
Check the new user and click OK
DONE! YEA!
