Is there a way through Regedit or VBA to add Paste Special to the
right-click menu in the Slide Edit mode? I use this feature extensively and
would perfer not to go to the main menu Edit-Paste Special route.

ECF,
Try this, Tools - customize - click on the Toolbars tab - check the box next
to the right click menu (don't know the exact name in English), a toolbar
will appear with all the right click menu's. Now drag the paste special
command from the commands tab to the menu of your choice. Close the dialog.
Does this do it for you?

Shortcut Menus

(and neat trick, Luc ... I didn't know you could do this; thanks!)

a toolbar

Help, I must know how to do this also, When I go into customize and click on
the toolbar tab I don't see anything listed tht says right click? Is it a
different name in Word 2003?

This is a very cool tip! But I tried it and it didn't work - any suggestions?
I'm still in PPT 2002 at work.

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. What they didn't mention to us (and why we were
confused or it wasn't working out) was that when you go to customize and put
a checkmark on the toolbar called Shortcut menus that in that toolbar there
are 4 menus all with drop down arrows. Click on the TEXT menu on the
shortcut menu toolbar, then click on OUTLINE. You'll see all the choices
that pop up when you right click on an outline in Powerpoint. Now go back
over to your customize window and go to COMMANDS, EDIT and find the PASTE
SPECIAL button and drag it over to where it says CUT, COPY, PASTE in the
OUTLINE list that popped up before. I went through every selection listed
under TEXT, TABLE, DRAW AND SLIDESHOW and added PASTE SPECIAL EVERYWHERE,
LOL. I then went into WORD and did the same thing. I add PASTE SPECIAL to
inserting text, tables etc. I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS FEATURE.

Feel free to email me at Roses623@aol if you want more help. I can send you
documentation with print screens if you'd like.

Word? This is a PowerPoint group. <g>

But in any case:

Choose Tools, Customize.
In the Customize dialog box click the Toolbars tab.
In the Toolbars list find "Shortcut Menus" and put a checkmark next to it.
A Shortcut Menus toolbar will appear. Find it on your screen.
Click the Commands tab
Click "Edit" in the Categories list on the left
Find Paste Special (or whatever other command you're interested in) in the Commands
list on the right.
Drag the command to the Draw button on the Shortcut Menus toolbar and pause while
it opens the menu. Don't let go of the mouse button.
Continue dragging down to Slide Background. Keep the mouse button down while you
wait for the Slide Background menu to open.
Drag onto the newly opened popup menu and let the mouse button go when the highligh
bar is where you want the new menu item to appear.

Press ESC to finish and dismiss the Customize dialog box.

Now copy something to the clipboard, right click on the slide and voila ... Paste
Special is now on the popup menu.

Woo hoo! Thank you! I had tried putting it on the Draw menu and didn't
continue dragging to Slide Background. I got it to work now and you rock.

Enric,
No, not yet, they completely forgot about me I think. If you have the time
could you visit the sharepoint site - discussion board - i would appreciate
your input on a question I put up there.
