How can I add colorized categories to my entiries?

I had my Outlook Calendar on a Micron desktop. (I'm not sure of the version
of Outlook.) I'm now using a Dell Insipirion with Windows XP and Outlook
2000. I hotsync to my Palm Pilot. But gone are the appointment categories
and their colors (which help a great deal!). How do I set those up?

Outlook 2002 is the first version to have color-coding in day/week/month
views.
