How can I activate reminders in imported calendar pst file?

I've imported a calendar only .pst file from older computer with Outlook,
into new computer running Outlook and can view the calendar fine under its
name. But I want it to become my default "calendar" file and I can't find
how to replace the original default that was set up when new Outlook first
ran.
SECOND PROBLEM: I believe the above solution will also solve problem
of not being able to set reminders in my imported .pst calendar--it tells me
"this folder does not support setting reminders--is this ok" everytime I
attempt to save a new calendar appointment, etc., but doesn't tell me how to
'cure' that significant problem !

Calendars are not separate files. All of your default folders exist, by
definition, in your default PST. Only the calendar named "Calendar" in that
default PST is your default calendar. You cannot change this. You can
certainly make a different PST your default, which means that all of the
standard folders in it become your default, but you cannot specify which
calendar within a particular PST is the default calendar. Moreover,
importing destroys much of the data in the PST. Never import from one PST
to another. Simply open the source PST, select the calendar it contains,
switch to a table view like By Category, select all the items with CTRL-A,
then copy the selection to the mail Calendar folder. Reminders can fire
only from the default calendar folder.

It doesn't sound like you imported the calendar Open the "imported" calendar
and drag the appointments to the new calendar. If you use the By Category
view, you can easily select all do move them to the new calendar.

I really wanted to get rid of the auto-created 'default' calendar because it
had some duplicates and some inaccuracies. I wanted to substitute my
previously-well-running calendar that I saved as a .pst file as instructed.
Now, I guess you can't do that?
With 300+ entries to move over, I won't drag them over singly. I set up
a test reminder and I don't see it in reminders window view. I see other
users had some problems with that. I also don't see an easy way to share
calendar on home network although an earlier thread said that 2007 was going
to make that easier. The HELP i've read doesn't seem to cover that, so
seems like there are some loose ends with 2007 Outlook. I've spent quite a
bit of time researching these items with Outlook--much of which should be
easier to do, frankly. Can I export this Microsoft Outlook data to the
google calendar easier, i wonder?

Its easy to delete events and to select all and drag events to the new
calendar. Use the By Category view, press Ctrl+A and delete everything.
Then repeat it on the old calendar-but drag or use the Edit, Copy to folder
menu instead of Deleting.

What version of out Look created the old calendar? Are you using the new pst
for email?
