How 2 Backup

I want 2 reinstall xp coz i suspect registry is corrupted coz pc is always
hanging. How can i back up desktop, my docs, installed programs(is this
possible coz dont wanna lose my Roxio etc) HDD's i mean everything but the
reg?
 
Did you try the Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Backup ?
