Hourglass on Taskbar

I'm running XP home. Recently encountered the Taskbar un-
usable problem I've seen posted around the internet on
various news groups, but no real soutions. Does anyone
have a solution? It seems "svchost.exe" is chewing up the
CPU and memory. If I kill the process, another one
starts. I'm not even sure that is causing my hourglass
taskbar problem. Please help

If you have an anti-virus program, uninstall, then reinstall it. I
have Norton. My problem was resolved after I performed this action.
