Hotmail/Outlook web page not found

I have used Outlook to read my Hotmail accounts for years now. Yesterday,
whenever I clicked on my Hotmail Inbox I would get this web page error about
"The web page could not be found. This error may have been caused by a bad
or misspelled URL;....."

Checking the properties on my Inbox, it shows it as having a web page at
C:\DOCUME~1\"user-name-changed"\LOCALS~1\Temp\olx248.tmp.html. That page is
grayed out so that I can not change that web page URL.

I have an MSN http account setup also and that does not have a web page
setup and it does not give me that error message.

I have deleted the Hotmail account and recreated it, I still get that
problem. I have reinstalled Outlook (....over-the-top reinstall...). I
don't want to have to delete my entire Office install, because I have it
tuned up just the way I want it, but that web page error message has to go.
I would simply use Thunderbird, but it does not appear to easily support
http email.

Your suggestions on what happened and most importantly how to fix this are
welcome.

I am using WinXP sp2 and would do a system restore to last week, but when I
tried that, I found I had no restores older than yesterday.

Well, too late now. I got so annoyed that I blew away my WinXP install and
created a new one.

I had tried creating a new user account, but had the same problem with
Hotmail, but not with an MSN HTTP email account. Weird.

I had removed and reinstalled Office XP, that did not solve the problem
either.

The good thing nowadays is that I have two PCs and this will motivate me to
learn more Linux.
