I have been facing this problem for the past 1-weeks.
The hotmail account does not open in the IE.
After giving my user-id and password the windows just
sits there there is no further action.
In this status window at the bottom it shows "DONE".
What is the problem, i had updated all the latest
updates and the servive pack for IE-6, and my IE
version is: 6.0.2800.1106 with SP-1.

I notice this problem as well, but only when accessing from my office PC. I
never have the problem at home, and I run the same version IE browser. I
thought that maybe there was some sort of firewall issue?

Try this AJ:

Blank pages when using Hotmail - Tools, internet options, advanced,
browsing, HTTP 1.1 settings. Turn off "Use HTTP 1.1", turn on "Use HTTP 1.1
through proxy connections".

Knowledge base articles have been released addressing a 'bug' that causes
blank windows in IE.

To all that wonder why "page cannot be displayed" :
You do not state what firewall you are using
If you are using a firewall that has a privacy setting
that may be the reason why you have the result "page cannot be
displayed" or IE is slow to find the URL or display it.
The same problem has been bugging me since I upgraded my eTrust
firewall.
I have read every post on this issue and cleaned all my spy and adware
with everything that was reccomended.
Still there was no joy till I tweaked my firewall settings.
Believe me I have little hair left!!!
I hope this helps.........
