hotmail browser limitations

When I try to log on to hotmailIi get a message that my browser has
limitations that will limit my use of hot mail and wouldIi like to download
the latest version of ie.I click yes and it takes me to win update where I
download all available.This does not help.I am running winxp/ie6.
