I have 22 hotfixes in my progams list all consisting of
at least 17megs each how long do i have to keep them or how
do you know which you should keep and which can you safely
delete?

You're talking about Add/Remove Programs?

These are the critical updates (mostly security-oriented) that
you've been downloading all along. Do not remove these, or you
will put back the security exposures they were designed to fix.
You can however delete their backup files. See
