hotfix

on add/remove programs there are alot of Windows XP
Hotfix (sp1). What are they? Can I remove them? Help

Those are patches that you have installed - probably from Windows Update.
You do not want to remove these.

SP1 refers to Service Pack 1 hotfixes, if you have a load
of these in Add/Remove that would indicate you haven't
installed Service Pack 1 as a whole (just individual
hotfixes).

If you do install Service Pack 1 all the entries with sp1
after them will disappear. If you remove them with
Add/Remove you will remove the hot fix itself.
