Hotfix Not Listed

I applied the MSBlasted hotfix manually (didn't use Windows Upddate)
and restarted. I then noticed that this hotfix was not listed in
ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS which I thought it should. So I ran Windows
Update and it also didn't recognize that the MSBlaster patch was
installed, so I appplied again via Windows Update and it still is not
listed in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. My questions are 1) why isn't this
patch listed in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS like the other patches are? 2) why
didn't Windows Update recognize that it was already installed?

joe,
not sure why it's not listed in 'add/remove programs' but i do know it's
supposed to be listed. mine is listed as 'Windows XP Hotfix-KB823980' in the
'add/remove programs'.

Oops, I typo in my directions for where to look in the
registry. Here's the corrected paragraph:

So to recap, the key is under SP1 if SP1 is NOT
installed. The key is under SP2 if SP1 IS installed.
