Hotfix from MS - slove the sleep problem

B

Bernard Liengme

If I hit the Sleep (hibernate) key on my HP desktop, the PC does into
hibernation. Hitting the key again will not wake it up - I get a reboot.
Have lost work by mistakenly hitting Sleep when I wanted ESC! The key now
has a jar lid taped over it.

When the PC reboots there is a message blaming the problem on my NVIDEA
graphic card.

Has anyone used the MS hotfix for this problem ? Should I try it?

I don't have a problem with either Hibernate or Sleep. When I am done using
my computer, I power it down. When I want to use my computer, I power it
up. No problem.

apparently, if you just use your PC for solitaire and porn, this isn't a
problem, but many "grown-ups" like to use their pc's for real work, and like
to be able to carry their laptops into a meeting and open the lid, and have
their laptop spring back to life without waiting for a boot process,

.... yes, the hotfix fixed the "won't wake from sleep" problem for me.

Don't think that I follow your work habits playing solitare and looking at
porn. NOT. Maybe you need to contact your parole officer and check in.
