hosts file on XP is ignored

I have modified the hosts file to specify an IP for a
particular domain name. This works on other XP
installations, but for some reason this PC appears to
ignore the hosts file.

Anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it?

Is the HOSTS file located in
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
and is it just named HOSTS with no extension?

Run CWShredder. It should repair the TCP setting w.r.t Hosts file location.
