Hosts corrupted

Every time I turn on my computer something has added the IP addresses and
URL's of all the well known anti-virus update sites. I've run Symantec
Corporate Edition, Spider, Adaware Pro ..... all to no avail. I tried
changing the Hosts file to Read only in the hopes that nothing could change
it but that didn't work. I deleted it but this thing created a new one with
all the IP's and URL's inside. Any idea what causes this? Virus? Worm?

Adaware is at http://www.lavasoft.de

Install both, run each - make sure to update them first for the latest
pattern files/signatures.

Unfortunately it didn't work. Any other suggestions? I downloaded it and
have run it many times. It sure found a lot of stuff though. Seems like an
excellent program.
