horizontal scroll bar

Sometimes a horizontal scroll bar appears on the bottom of my screen and I
have to scroll back and forth to see all the contents of a particular page. I
always want all pages to automatically fit the screen. Can I get rid of this
horizontal scroll bar permanently?

Are you referring to particular program or programs? Or are you seeing
it on the Windows desktop?
 
Yes if you reset the screen resolution to something greater than the
page contents.
