Homepage Setting

Rich

I am having an issue with both my Compaq Presario 2500
laptop and Presario S5300NX which are new. This is my
first pass with Windows XP and the set homepage feature
seems to be over-ridden every time I start up.

My selection is replaced
with "res://mshp.dll/index.html#37049" each time.

I am looking for advise...

Thank you, Rich

All ready you have been hacked.
Clean your computer and get all the latest security updates from MS.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
