homepage hijack

I am no whizz on IE or bugs that hijack it - in fact I
have just suffered my first and its a real pain

the address is http//Oml.net.cat and it looks like some
half baked US directory. what im more worried about is

1. is there something more dangerous carried in this bug

2. when i run the microsoft spyware it spots the hijack,
removes it and then blocks a couple of attemmpts for the
bug to reassert itself....before the bug comes through
again

Can anyone help me to nuke this thing?

Cheers

Can you give us more information on the hijack. What is the name of the
hijacker? Are you running an anti-virus program? What version of windows?
Are you running any other anti-spyware programs?

as I say I am a novice on these matters...thanks a
million for your response...re your questions

name of hijacker - all i have is the web page that is
presented and keeps over-writing my attempts to replace
it http//Oml.net.cat Can I find out more info on the
hijacker that would help you guide me? Happy to do
whatever is needed - where should I look?

Windows XP

yes I am running the microsoft antispyware (Beta 1) and
previously downloaded Lavasoft Ad-Adware in a bid to get
rid of this thing. That didn't even pick up the hijack.
